Group Meetings Announcements
Please check our Meetings page regularly for updates on temporary group closures and online/phone options.
In an effort to support local groups who may wish to host their meetings online (whether by voice, video, or both), the Green Mountain Area of Narcotics Anonymous has purchased a professional conference platform. (Zoom Pro). We will share account info with any GMANA groups who would like to use it. Please contact [email protected] if your group is interested.
With this service, we should have the ability for every group currently on our list to host their regularly scheduled meeting online. Please email [email protected] to request your login info, and to have your group’s link posted on our website meeting directory.
Please keep us informed at [email protected] with any meeting changes (or additional online offerings). And, please check our website gmana.org regularly, as we will be providing special updates about meeting changes and events in the area.

NA World Services Statement Regarding Coronavirus
We have had many inquiries and questions about health concerns regarding the coronavirus (COVID-19). While it is not our role to make statements regarding health issues, we encourage NA groups to discuss the situations you are facing and the options you have to provide safe environments for those who attend your meetings. Groups may want to consider asking members to temporarily stop some of the common practices found at NA meetings such as hugging or shaking hands, or offering refreshments. You may also want to consider alternatives to “circling up” at the end of the meeting.
Some groups are discussing contingencies for the possibility that they will not be able to meet face to face for some period; ideas include hosting phone meetings or online meetings. These are just a few thoughts; we honor each NA group’s responsibility to discuss and determine what is best for their meeting.
You may want to contact your national or local public health agencies for specific guidance regarding meetings and gatherings. We are aware of the guidelines and recommendations provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), https://www.cdc.gov/ and there are similar agencies in countries outside of the USA. The World Health Organization (WHO) may also be a resource https://www.who.int/.
If you are seeking information about specific local NA events or meetings, please contact the service committee responsible for hosting that event or meeting, or visit their local NA website. We have heard that some events and meetings have been affected by mandated closures, but we do not maintain a list of those and we are not the best resource for current information for local events and meetings. Narcotics Anonymous is a global, community-based organization with a multi-lingual and multicultural membership.
NA was founded in 1953. As of May 2012, NA members hold more than 61,800 meetings weekly in 129 countries. We offer recovery from the effects of addiction through working a twelve-step program, including regular attendance at group meetings. The group atmosphere provides help from peers and offers an ongoing support network for addicts who wish to pursue and maintain a drug-free lifestyle.
Our name, Narcotics Anonymous, is not meant to imply a focus on any particular drug; NA’s approach makes no distinction between drugs including alcohol. Membership is free, and we have no affiliation with any organizations outside of NA including governments, religions, law enforcement groups, or medical and psychiatric associations. Through all of our service efforts and our cooperation with others seeking to help addicts, we strive to reach a day when every addict in the world has an opportunity to experience our message of recovery in his or her own language and culture.
